Elements
This is a non-exhaustive list of the elements and associated calls that exist within the hub system.
For most characters and monsters elemental and material effects will have no additional effect, unless otherwise briefed the elemental section of a call can be ignored. The general lists of elements and materials are given in thier own section of the play rules.
Fire
Water
Air
Earth
Life
Venom
Shadow
Magic
Fire
The fire element represents not only combustion, but heat in general. Any combat call including 'Fire' represents an attack of this nature.
Water
Water as an element represents frozen and liquid water. A spell employing ice fragments or liquid to function is aligned with, and may use the elemental call, 'Water'
Air
Air as a magical element combines the subtlety to a gentle breeze with the intense power of a lightning bolt. Any effect calling on the power of storms or wind may use the elemental call of 'Air'
Earth
Earthen magic calls on the strength of the ground itself to create effects. Any spell utilising the earth to empower it may use the combat call 'earth'.
Life
Life as an element represents both healing, and death. Both sides of this element have no special call as they affect the physical body of the target directly.
Venom
This is a special life-related element call. Physical attacks using the call 'Venom' need to cause at least 1 point of lethal damage and have no immeadiate effect, however after 5 minutes or at the end of a combat (whichever is longer) the additional damage dealt by the poison will be applied to the chest/head location. The target will need to be informed of the amount of extra damage by the ref or the player using the poison, in the event that they forget to inform the target no additional damage is inflicted (ie they had a lucky escape).
Shadow
Shadow, like life, represents the dual conditions of both light and darkness. Effects create light or utilise it may use the 'light' comabat call. Effects based around shadow and the extinguishing of light may use the call 'shadow' as part of an attack.
Magic
Magic is the pure essence of sorcery, any effect that is not aligned to an element may use the call 'enchanted'
